Oracle is betting on channel partners for growth in
mid-market. The company is galvanizing its team-mainly system integrators (SIs)
and independent software vendors (ISVs), by organizing a series of programs and
exhibiting to them the business opportunities in its Oracle Fusion Middleware.
The event brings resellers, solution providers, ISVs and end-customers on to a
common platform.
"We are trying to make our 250 channel partners work
with the existing 6,000 customer base. The events were conducted mainly to share
Oracle network, high-light the benefits we provide, invite them to join the
value-proposition and provide development support. It was well received by the
channels," said James Thomas, General Manager (Asian Global SI Alliances),
Oracle Corporation Asia Pacific.
Fusion Middleware is a portfolio of leading, standards-based
and customer-proven software products, which offers complete support for
development, deployment and management of service-oriented architecture.
"Based on this, we are inviting our partners to build solutions around
Fusion Middleware and end-customers see a great value-proposition in this
unified integrated platform," he added.
Oracle has identified some main areas such as infrastructure,
integrated transaction applications, business intelligence, J2EE and security
and identity management, among others, where it will work with definite set of
partners to develop solutions. "We are in the process of making standard
editions available for mid-markets in all the space and working with solution
providers, ISVs and
resellers for the same," Thomas informed.
SMB is a part of their mid-market strategy. And, Oracle is building the
channel network here to develop and offer solutions to the customers, which can
bring in cost-pro-position, business-proposition and value-proposition.
"Fusion Middleware works with what you have (legacy applications at
customers' place) today so you do not have to start over. For channel
partners, they can start building solutions for customers from any piece and
move on to the next with Fusion Middleware.
