When did you start this company and how has it expanded since then? What are the products, solutions and services you offer?
My company is known as Sapphire Micro System. It was formed in January 1991. We started with a tiny capital and began with offering repairs/maintenance services etc.
Having Engineering background and some good experience, slowly got into manufacturing of power supply and other PC Add-ons. That was the turning point and we could reach to customers across India, who appreciated our products and services.
With changing times, components manufacturing was not workable and we started importing various products. We entered into formal distribution agreement with Taiwan based networking giant Accton Technology corporation, which subsequently marketed SMC and now EdgeCore brands of networking products. We are also into import of various other networking products, including POE Switches, media converters, SFP modules, cables and allied products.
Formed a separate team that handles surveillance security solutions and doing good business there too.
Our focus always remained in quality product and services rather than going for big turnovers.
Any secondary business such as tie up with another IT company, diversification into healthcare products, manufacturing or assembling the accessories etc.?
We are partner of EdgeCore Networks Corporation, Taiwan. Also authorised distributors for Cheetah range of networking products, such as high performance SFP Modules, media converters and so on.
Also offering surveillance security solutions.
What is your geographical expanse in India?
We have branches in Mumbai, Bhiwandi, Navi Mumbai and Gujarat.
