“We have been in memory and storage space for almost 23 years and were the first to introduce 32, 64 and 128 GB flash drives in the space and have received critical acclamation and rave reviews for all our products launched till date. We are looking for good distributors and channel partners in the Indian market, who have strong focus in the memory and storage segment,” said Paul Jones, CEO, Patriot Memory.

The company is looking for a limited number of partners in each region and is going to be selective in terms of partner strategy. “We would like to develop selective partner strategy for our Indian operations. In order to ensure that our partners make the most profit, we will only select a limited number of partners to distribute Patriot Memory products within a region. This strategy creates a strong relationship between Patriot and the partner,” Jones added.

He said that the channels need not worry about the sluggish economy or price fluctuations in the memory segment, as memory market remains insulated from the impact of global recession. “This would be a good time to enter the memory segment. We will penetrate aggressive in the Indian market after appointing a distributor,” he added.

He believes that the Windows 7 launch from Microsoft will be driving the memory market to a great extent even though Windows Vista was a let down due to the low adoption rate.

The company is betting on SSDs, tri-channel DDR3 modules and NAS products to drive its growth in India. “Patriot Memory is one of the leaders in flash memory, including the development of the newest flash technology-Solid State Disk (SSD) drives. Price of SSDs remain a main constraint. However, it will also come down like other memory products and it is a matter of time. I believe that the inexpensive NAS products would suit the home segment and SMB effectively.”

Agreeing that the fluctuating prices are a major issue for the channels, Jones said that the problem is mainly due to an imbalance in the supply chain process. He assured that the company would be able to shield their partners from price volatility, as they follow a proper supply chain mechanism.
