Peritek launches video/graphics PMC card

Mistral Solutions Pvt Ltd, provider of complete technology solutions and professional services in the embedded space, has announced the availability

of Peritek's new Garnet/PMC PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC), an entry-level ruggedized video capture and graphics card designed for use in VME and

CompactPCI systems.

According to the press release, the Garnet/PMC is designed for mission-critical military, aerospace, homeland security and industrial

applications and is available in two levels of ruggedization. It is a high-resolution graphics display controller and video capture card featuring

a Silicon Motion 128-bit SM731 graphics accelerator which supports single displays at screen

resolutions up to 1600 x 1200 x 24 bpp with 16.7 million colors.

It also supports dual independent displays at 1024 x 768 x 24 bpp. The SM731 has 16 Mbytes of high speed SDRAM display memory on-chip to provide ample

local storage for image and off-screen data. 

The release further stated that Peritek's Garnet/PMC offers the flexible graphics and video I/O. It supports composite, high speed RGB, DVI video

inputs and can display and/or capture video from one to four independent video cameras.

Alternatively, the card can support a high-speed RGB camera at resolutions up to 1280 x 1024 x 16 bpp. Garnet/PMC is designed for

displays running in VxWorks, Linux and Windows operating system environments.
