Philips launches handset for music lovers

Philips has introduced the 350 mobile, which features the ‘Be DJ’ creation function. Users can use it to create their own personal sounds on the phone in real time, mixing up to nine music tracks. Natural sounds can also be stored as ring tones or SMS alerts.

The phone features a FM radio with a hi-fi stereo headset. It is also MMS-enabled and provides quick and direct access for creating and sharing up to 100 KB or 99 pages of pictures, text and audio. Photos can be sent and shared with friends using MMS or the infrared interface, or they can be stored in the phone’s memory.

The Java 2.0 in the phone allows users to download personal applications such as graphic applications, information tools, and interactive games. It also features a rotating camera as an accessory. The camera has a ‘Night Mode’ function, which allows pictures to be taken the night or in low light conditions.

The Philips 350 weighs 85 grams and has a 128x128 pixel TFT panel with 65,000 colors. It is priced at Rs 15,000.
