Powercom UPS, made for India

Asia Powercom Pvt Ltd (APPL), Powercom International's joint venture company with Zeta Technologies, is launching a UPS which is made especially for the Indian climatic conditions. Called the IND 600A, this UPS has been certified by the government-recognized Electronics Regulatory Telecom Lab.

The IND 600A has an MRP of Rs 3,000, exclusive of taxes. Talking about how this product is different from other UPS in the market, Tejas Sheth, Director, APPL says, "Our product has an Indian output socket, while most other brands have the international socket and then have to provide cables or connectors to local users can plug their monitors to the UPS." The UPS also takes battery backup in an off-mode.

The company plans to have channel events at 12 cities to educate partners about this product, its unique positioning in the market and why it is ideal for Indian users. These events will be by invitation only and will comprise the leading partners of these cities.

APPL has also introduced a launch scheme called 'More Sale, More Smile' to promote this new product. A point-based scheme, partners can win gifts including silver coins, Altec Lansing AVS300 speakers, diamond pendants, cordless phones, Nokia 1100, Philips DVD player or a Nikon digicam. This scheme will be applicable for all sales made in the AMJ quarter.
