EduTech Platforms

With the hybrid teaching system becoming popular in 2022, EduTech platforms are becoming more and more popular. Especially with Omicron virus growing in India and prospects of lockdown looming large, schools and other educational institutions are fast adopting EduTech platforms. At the same time, various solo trainers who train students and employees in upskilling courses also are onboarding EduTech platforms.

While EduTech platforms are very useful for distant learning, especially solo trainers should take precautions should be cautious while adopting these platforms. Educational institutions should also keep certain things in mind.

Security

While adopting an EduTech platform the institutions and solo trainers both should take care that the platform is protected against security threats. Unwanted and unsolicited cyber attackers should not attach themselves to your courses and create havoc. Talk to the service providers to instal trustworthy security solutions to safeguard against cyber threats.

While security threats are focused on protecting against cyber attacks on data, privacy passwords and malware, many cyber criminals don't use the system of these but rather use simple human psychology to make the victim transfer passwords and money willingly. Trainers should caution the learners that they should not entertain unknown persons on these platforms and should not give their passwords and other data to any unauthorised person.

Equipment

Any EduTech platform requires a complete set of hardware including personal computer, wi fi router, Internet connecting system, various software, video conferencing systems, storage devices and others to function normally. While adopting an EduTech platform, make sure that you have the required configuration of hardware and equipments to go onboard, so that you don't face problems while using the platform.

Resellers of these hardware are of great use for this purpose, as they can instal and network the required hardware and provide post-installation service.

Accreditation

This is especially for the learners and trainers who come from outside an institution. Before joining any training course, make sure that the training programme has proper accreditation from an appropriate authority. The programme should be beneficial to you after the training is over.

Traffic

This point is vital for the solo trainers who offer courses on their own. They often go onboard a platform that looks attractive and convenient. However, after onboarding they discover that the platform has no traffic and they have to spend large amounts of money and efforts to bring meaningful traffic that can convert into learners for their courses.

Institutions don't have this problem, because they have a set number of students enrolling. But solo trainers are dying because of lack of traffic on these platforms. Hence, before building your profile on an EduTech platform, make sure that a sizeable traffic of the right kind comes to that platform.
