The Computer & Media Dealers Association, Pune, is planning to launch a flexible loan scheme for its
members who experience payment problems. The maximum loan that is expected to be
disbursed is Rs 100,000.
Commenting on the flexible
short-term loan scheme, president of CMDA, Vinayak Patwardhan, says that the
scheme was meant to help small dealers who are not in a position to raise quick
money from banks or financial institutions.
From revenue point of view,
Pune CMDA finds itself in a comfortable situation. Its annual exhibition has
been bringing in money that the association now wants to put to use to help out
needy channel partners.
CMDA is working on the
logistics and full-time manpower that would be required to verify dealer
credentials, disburse loans and then look after the recovery. Says Vinayak,
"The objective is to render timely help to those members for whom funds are
not easily available."
If CMDA succeeds in the
venture, it would be the first channel organization in the country to come out
with a progressive measure in the interest of partners.
