Quantum's SuperLoader with SDLT 320 tape drives

Quantum Corp has announced the availability of SuperLoader with SDLT 320
drives. The SuperLoader with SDLT 320 offers approximately 45 percent more
capacity at a price the same or lower than the superceded model.

The SuperLoader provides data protection through remotely managed and
automated backup. Combined with backup and recovery software, the SuperLoader
allows consolidation of multiple backup targets into a single shared, automated
system. By adding SDLT 320 drives, the SuperLoader scales up to 5.12 TB (with
2:1 compression) of data protection and transfer rates of 115GB/hour.

The SDLT 320 drive provides backward read compatibility with DLTtape IV media
and uses the same Super DLTtape I media as the SDLT 220.

The Superloader, with 8 and 16 SDLT 320 drive slots, is available at an MRP
of Rs 8 lakh and Rs 9.5 lakh respectively, excluding local taxes. The
SuperLoader comes with a three-year rapid exchange and 5x9 hardware telephone
technical support.
