For the last two years, the market for branded PCs and laptops is on the upswing. Banking on this trend Kolkata based Saboo Computers last year had opened two retail showrooms under the chain of Saboo Computers' retail outlets.
The G C Avenue outlet is purely a branded PC and laptop showroom that displays products of some exclusive brands. Another one in Nagerbazar, North Kolkata, displays PC products, components, laptops and accessories. According to Rajesh Saboo, Director, Saboo Computers, both showrooms have received tremendous responses. “I am very satisfied with the kind of response the two showrooms have received. It has crossed my expectation,” he said.
Boosted by this response, Saboo plans to open two more retail showrooms this year. “We will focus more on retail business. I feel that in the coming days retailing will command the market as direct interaction with the end customers will increase more than through other mediums,” said Saboo.
The company is all set to enhance its BPO business, which it launched last fiscal. The BPO wing headed by his sister is called Saboo e-Solutions. “We are looking for a big set up to increase our BPO operations as we feel that we are ready to handle this project in a bigger and better way now,” informed Saboo.
The last financial year saw Saboo Computers achieving a formidable turnover of Rs 40 crore, registering a growth of 15 percent. For the current fiscal (2006 — 07), Saboo has set itself a target of 40 percent growth on its turnover. “With our existing wholesale and retail business and the new showrooms to be opened, this is the minimum growth that we are expecting,” claimed
Saboo.
