Samsung India launched its advanced

Samsung India launched its advanced 'Bordeaux' series of LCD panels in the Indian market. It is available in 26”, 32” and 40” screen sizes. “Product innovation, technology leadership and design represent the pillars of our brand strategy and the 'Bordeaux' LCD range is another fitting example of this approach”, states R Zutshi, Deputy MD, Samsung India.

The Samsung Bordeaux LCD TV is inspired by the grace of a wine glass and manifests a concept of subtle curvilinear lines. The front surface of the LCD TV is clean since all control buttons have been moved to the sides. Additionally, the world's first hidden bar type speakers are invisibly installed in the lower front area.

The Samsung Bordeaux LCD range offers crisp images with a dynamic contrast ratio of 5000:1 and a color palette featuring 12.8 billion colors. The company's proprietary DNIe technology offers digital perfection in the form of crystal clear images in which even the smallest details are captured.

In addition, the Samsung LCD TV provides an undistorted image from virtually every viewing angle (178 degrees wide viewing angle), while boasting decreased thickness and reduced power consumption. The Bordeaux range allows for H sharpness and faster response time in the games.

The Bordeaux range is priced at Rs 69,990 for LA 26R7 (26”), Rs 96,990 for LA32R7 (32”) and Rs 1,55,990 for LA 40R7 (40”).

As a reflection of its commitment to growing the LCD market in India and recognition of its huge potential, Samsung India announced its plans to manufacture flat panel televisions in India. “We plan to commence manufacturing LCD televisions at our high tech, advanced Noida CTV facility from the third Quarter of this year.” Stated Pradeep Tognatta, Director-Sales, Samsung India.

Samsung India is trying to develop the LCD market in India through its wide LCD product range offering and marketing programs, is aiming for a 50% market share in the LCD market in India this year.

The company also announced the launch of its Home Theatre HT-XQ100 in the Indian market. This Home Theatre model, with its sleek, streamlined design, has been specially designed by the Samsung R&D team to match the elegance of the 'Bordeaux 'series. “The HT-XQ100 represents a classic example of solution marketing by an electronics company and we are very proud to bring this industry-first initiative to India”, noted Tognatta.

Some of the features of the HT-XQ100 include USB Plug and Play, HDMI Out for 100% digital-to-digital signal transmission, Wireless ready and DivX, DVD-Audio/Video, MP3, WMA, JPEG Disc Playback. Samsung has announced a special combination price for its 'Bordeaux' range with HT-XQ100 during the World Cup Soccer period. The Special packages are available between June1 — July 15, 2006.

During the World Cup Soccer period, the company is offering a 'Triple Zero' (Zero processing fee, zero interest and zero dealer buy down) finance offer on its entire LCD range. “Our new, enhanced LCD range coupled with our attractive finance offer available on the LCD range during the Soccer period, should incentivize consumers to enjoy the thrill of the Soccer game, live on their Samsung LCD TVs. We are expecting a 30% jump in our CTV sales during the May-June period this year over corresponding period last year”, added Zutshi.
