Mercury
Interactive Corporation today announced that SAP AG is using its BTO software to
test, diagnose and monitor the performance of its new internal corporate portal
from pre-production through production.
With Mercury BTO
software, SAP's IT group manages the performance lifecycle of applications
that are integrated into the portal. SAP's IT group uses Mercury LoadRunner,
part of Mercury Performance Center to help perform load and stress testing of
new functionality being added into the portal.
Once in
production, SAP's IT group uses Mercury Business Availability Center to help
monitor applications, to identify and resolve potential problems before they
impact the users of the portal, Mercury said in a statement.
Mercury Business
Availability Center helps SAP's IT group to understand the portal's impact
on the business, understand the end-user experience, manage service levels and
report this information from multiple locations worldwide to key stakeholders.
SAP's IT group was able to deploy Mercury Business Availability Center very
rapidly, with the first location online within three days and all 11 locations
around the world up and running in less than 30 days.
"At SAP, the
performance of our internal systems is essential for successful business
operations," said Michael Golz, regional CIO, SAP Americas. "Mercury
BTO software allows us to test the performance of new functionality in
development and then monitor the impact this functionality has from the moment
it goes into production. We can easily manage performance across the lifecycle
of the applications and pinpoint the specific areas where performance can be
optimized for the end user."
"SAP has
adopted Mercury's industry-leading application delivery and application
management software to optimize the performance and availability of its internal
corporate portal," said Yuval Scarlat, senior vice president of products at
Mercury. "This is strong testimony to the value of Mercury's BTO
offerings as well as the strength of our relationship with SAP."
