SES to distribute Pureview LCD monitors

Pureview Technologies has appointed SES Technologies as its national
distributor for its LCD monitors in India. As per the agreement, SES Technology
will be an exclusive distributor covering the length and breadth of the country
through its 30 branches catering to over 3000 channel partners.

Justifying the appointment, Dhananjay Shah, MD, Pureview Technologies, said,
“We were looking for somebody who would give extra focus on our product. And
we found SES Technologies to be the right partner as they promised to appoint a
separate product manager for our product. Also, they did not have distribution
of any other LCD brand.”

According to Shah, settling down on SES was very easy, as both were talking
the same language as far as vision for the product was concerned. “SES has a
fantastic reach and I am sure it will do justice to Pureview product,” he
said.

LCD monitor was one of the few building blocks that SES was not into until
now. “By taking up distribution of Pureview LCD monitor we have filled the
vacuum in our distribution business,” said Kurian Chandy, CEO of SES
Technologies. The only other component that SES is directly not in to is hard
disk drive. However, Chandy informed that SES is an import partner for Seagate
HDD.

“In the first year we are looking at liquidating the entire production of
one lakh unit, which will amount to around eight percent market share for
Pureview in the LCD monitor business,” added Chandy.

For SES Technologies, contribution of Purview may be less than 10 percent of
its overall revenue, but the company hopes to scale this up substantially in the
next few years considering the huge demand for LCD monitors in India.

To promote the product, both Pureview and SES will jointly work on various
channel program, dealer meets and roadshows from the third quarter of 2006.
