Pune-based Shro Systems, a company offering services in computer systems, hardware, networking, software, consumables,
peripherals, stationery and computer training, has now set up a retail venture called Computer Mart.
The Computer Mart is targeted at employees of corporates looking out for value products. With around Rs 20 lakh pumped into the venture, Anirudh Shrotriya, Director, wishes to give customers a `feel good´ factor who wish to take a look at what they are buying.
Says Shrotriya, "We wish to make this into a corporatized entity and therefore the retail venture. Usually, dealers do not have the space to display their goods and customers lose interest when they end up seeing the goods packed in boxes and cannot feel them. The Computer Mart is an effort to ensure that they get this feel."
Shro Systems is beginning a summer campaign with Intel for customers of Citibank and ICICI. Citibank customers who book a computer get a computer table, a wristwatch, T-shirt, headphone MIC, mouse pad and dust cover and India Speaks software. A similar offer is being made to customers of ICICI Bank. An Intel canopy would be placed at strategic outlets where customers can interact with Shro Systems and see what is on offer. Shro Systems has also started moving around in Intel mobile vans demonstrating products to potential customers.
A similar campaign is being worked out with PCS for its home computer range. Here the company is looking out for high traffic areas in the city like, book stores, super malls and lifestyle stores where the products would be on display.
