In the Silver Club Siemens Information System's (SIS) export revenue of Rs
319 crore has been excluded to place them at a level playing field with domestic
players.
Only 15% of Siemens Information Systems' revenue came from the domestic
market. And this has grown by nearly 76% at Rs 61 crore during the 2003-04
fiscal.
This is in contrast to the negative growth of 25% it witnessed in the
previous fiscal to close at Rs 34.91 crore. According to the company, the
bottomline was in sync with the revenue growth.
SIS managed to bounce back in the domestic market with its expertise in the
ERP business. And it could not have asked for better timing. The general
industry as a whole was on the upswing.
Government and corporate spendings increased in 2003-04 and even small and
medium companies started investing in ERP solutions, which earlier was limited
to large corporates. And this is where SIS could fit its offerings perfectly.
According to the company, the trend of SMBs upscaling their business will
continue and it hopes to capitalize on this trend.
One big customer segment which SIS has been lagging is the BFSI. Being aware
of the tremendous growth happening in the BFSI segment, the company hopes to
enhance its presence in this segment as well.
SIS is one of the largest SAP implementors in the country. SAP
implementations at BSNL in Gujarat was one of the biggest projects that it had
undertaken during 2003-04.
Besides, ERP, the company also specializes in providing complete end-to-end
media solutions. Times of India, Malayalam Manorama, Tata Info Media,
Mathruboomi are some of the clients it implemented solutions for starting, from
advertisement booking to pagination.
The company is also in to satellite imaging, smart card-based access
automation and business consulting solutions. While both these activities have
remained low profile through out the year, the company hopes to see good growth
in the coming years.
SISL operates through five branches in the domestic market: Mumbai, Bangalore,
Pune, Chennai and Kolkata.
