SMC’s 6824M TigerStack III managed switch

SMC Networks has introduced the latest in its TigerStack series of business networking products - the SMC6824M TigerStack III 10/100 Managed Switch. It is an economical, versatile solution for bandwidth- networks. 

This 24-port switch has two optional slots for fiber and Gigabit expansion. It allows connections for 10 Mbps and 100 Mbps copper connections, and provides optional fiber connectivity via a choice of 100BASE-FX or 1000BASE-LX, SX or ZX. 

TigerStack III delivers non-blocking switching at wire-speed. Its built-in security includes RADIUS authentication, TACACS+, SSH for secure Telnet sessions, SSL and VLAN support with GVRP. In addition, the switch comes with a tool set that features EliteView management software, supports QoS, rate limiting, RMON and Fast Spanning Tree. 

The SMC6824M allows upgrades like SNMPv2 and IEEE802 and is priced at $755, (34’692.2 ) or under $31 (1424.45 ) per port.
