The 2004 edition of Storage Networking Summit, commonly referred as SNS, will lay great emphasis on the SME segment and promises to offer a platform for customers in this space to identify right kind of storage solutions for their organizations. Additionally, the event-- which is being held in Bangalore between 7th and 9th December--will also seek to provide a forum for SIs to help them understand the trends in storage networks and hence identifying the right kind of opportunities.
Informing more about the event, Brenda Christensen, Director, SNS says, “The event would have a range of workshops specially tailored to meet the needs of SMEs. We believe this segment is the most promising spender on storage but lacks when it comes to the right kind of information about what solutions to invest on.” Additionally, there would also be a round-table for systems integrators and service providers. The gathering is expected to discuss issues related to vendor relations, support, government regulations and global co-operative arrangements.
Brenda asserts that the summit would maintain its vendor neutrality despite having some top execs of large storage firms making presentations and taking part in panel discussions. “As a new initiative, we have introduced an end-user forum, where the customers get to interact with each other, while vendors can only sit on the sideline to watch the proceedings without offering any propaganda,” quips she. The event would also feature many emerging companies and start-ups. These include outfits like InMage, Cyrca, Aarohi, among others. Bigger storage players like EMC, NetApp, Veritas, Intransa and Sun are also taking part in the summit.
