The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a professional Twenty20 cricket league in India contested during April and May of every year by franchise teams representing Indian cities. The league was founded by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2007.The title sponsor of the IPL 10 in 2017 is Vivo , thus the league is officially known as the Vivo Indian Premier League. The current IPL title holders are Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The IPL is the most-attended cricket league in the world and ranks sixth among all sports leagues. In 2010, the IPL became the first sporting event in the world to be broadcast live on YouTube. The brand value of IPL was estimated to be US$4.5 billion in 2015 by American Appraisal, A Division of Duff & Phelps. According to BCCI, the 2015 IPL season contributed ₹11.5 billion (US$182 million) to the GDP of the Indian economy. Duff & Phelps added that the value of brand IPL has jumped to $4.16 billion after the 2016 edition, against $3.54 billion in 2015. The 19% jump is despite the fact that the US dollar to Indian rupee currency has depreciated by nearly 10%.

Acer Ties up with RCB as Technology Partner for IPL

PC and tablet-maker Acer today announced its association with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as its technology partner for the 10th season of Indian Premier League (IPL).

It is the second year in a row that Acer has partnered with RCB as their official technology partner, the company said in a statement here.

"Through this tie-up, we want to show our support to the spirit of the cricket and look forward to connect with youngsters," Acer India CMO and Business Head, Chandrahas Panigrahi said.

Stating that the association comes at the back of record growth, high-profile awards across categories and product leadership in many segments, Acer said 2017 promises to be an action packed year both on and off the pitch.

 Delhi Daredevils extend Association with Mother Dairy

 Indian Premier League franchise Delhi Daredevils on Monday extended their association with leading dairy products manufacturer Mother Diary for the upcoming 10th edition of the cash-rich T20 cricket league, starting on Wednesday.

As part of the association, the brand will be seen as the principal sponsor of the Daredevils' team jersey with the logo placed on the lead arm. Besides, the logo will be evident at several key spots on match days, confirmed a statement from the dairy firm.

"We are looking forward to cheering our fans with our performances, both on and off the field, with our exciting young squad."

Mother Dairy will soon launch a mass campaign at the company's select booths across the National Capital Region (NCR), giving an opportunity to the fans to express their passion and support for their team. In addition, the brand will also launch a series of social media engagements with consumers to pep up the association.

 Twitter celebrates IPL’s 30 greatest players with special emojis

The dedicated emojis will appear when using the player’s full name as a hashtag. In a first for the IPL, social media platform Twitter today unveiled special emojis for 30 of the league’s biggest stars.

“Fans can just Tweet using the designated player hashtag (i.E. #ViratKohli for Virat Kohli) and an emoji version of that player will automatically appear after the hashtag within the Tweet,” the company stated in a press release.

There will also be an emoji for the 10th season when fans Tweet with #IPL.

“These special player Twitter emojis are a celebration of our superstars who light up the league…We would like to dedicate this launch to them and can’t wait to see the conversation that unfolds this season,” said BCCI CEO Rahul Johri.
