Solution Champ: Locuz Enterprises

Out of the total business of `190 crore in the last fiscal of Hyderabad-based Locuz Enterprise Solutions, around 65 core i.e. one-third of its business comes from cloud and virtualization solutions. Recently, it was in news for launching its in-house product ClouTor-a cloud aggregator and a tool built on Cicso and Net-App's data centre infrastructure platform called FlexPod. The FlexPod solution portfolio "combines NetApp storage systems, Cisco Unified Computing System servers and Cisco Nexus fabric into a single, flexible architecture."

The company is expecting to grab around 2 percent of the total 65-crore cloud orchestration tools market in India in the next FY. With the launch of ClouTor, the company's focus will be to win 50 contracts in India in the next 1.5 to 2 years. The company is also planning to make ClouTor available as virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) very soon.

In its deployment lately, the company has worked with an American 3D engineering group and changed its infrastructure from a monolith to cloud ready one. Another deployments happened in one of the educational institutions- Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad-and made it cloud ready. Locuz is expecting15% growth in cloud and allied solutions this fiscal.

QuantM

Gurgaon-based QuantM Net Technologies is one of the key players in the home grown cloud solutions and almost doubled its revenue from cloud services last fiscal. It ended FY13 on Rs 127 crore revenue, up from Rs 118 crore in FY12-growing less than 10%. However, this financial year had major announcements from this company: It launched technical services called TEQBAY for the American market primarily catering to the SMB and SOHO segment. The solutions are strengthened up by its acquisition of RAINQLOUD and TEAMWORQ back in 2011. Through RAINQLOUD, it sells its cloud services across India and the US. QuantM also signed on Google as an authorized reseller of its apps with an aim to offer full suite of communication and collaboration tools to its customers.

Cloud solutions like ERP, BI, CRM among other apps along with hosted application from its ISP partners were the key solutions. The company also aimed for Value-added developers, or VADs, to become a new breed of cloud solution providers to hit the market, offering solutions that will make the cloud easier.

With a committed investments of upwards of half a million dollar, the company acquired many clients for portfolios like DR-as-a-service, Infrastructure-as-a-service among others. It also has a strategic partnership with Tier-III DC service provider to strengthen the cloud offerings. At Canalys APAC channel event, QuantM received the managed services partner of the year award for building a sustainable services practice that continually invests in new areas.

e-Zest

Mumbai-based e-Zest Solutions is expecting more than 70% growth in FY 14 over the topline of `21.5 crore last fiscal with its improved focus on cloud, mobility and analytics services. The company has already achieved `26.2 crore in its aim at `36 crore at the end of this fiscal. It boasts of satisfied customers ranging from start-ups to global companies like Volkswagen, Reliance Industries, Emerson Engineering, Essar Oil among others.

The company is betting big on cloud computing and its services. In FY 13, the company achieved a top line of `3.77 crore making up to 18% of the total business. The company claims to be playing its cards right in the cloud and is "rising as a strong player in the space by deploying their services of cloud application development services, cloud infrastructure provisioning and administration and cloud computing consulting and professional services through different cloud deployment models like Public, Private and Hybrid cloud services."

e-Zest has also developed three products or frameworks : Lantana, VPCMAP and AWS Analytics. Lantana framework is the performance and cost optimization of AWS infrastructure based on algorithmic recommendations. VPC MAP is a 360 degree solution for management of AWS virtual private cloud including auto provisioning, log processing and analytics and real time monitoring of AWS resources, added Deshmukh.

XcellHost-a leading Managed Hosting and Cloud Services Provider on the Windows Server platform has been in the business since 1999. Last year, it rebranded itself and changed its name from OrientSoft. A pure play cloud services company did a top line of 12 crores in the financial year and expects 40 % growth in this fiscal. The company is seeing traction in private cloud as there is a whole shift from Cap-ex to Op-ex model.

The services include shared hosting, virtual private servers, co-location services, messaging services and others.

Recently the company deployed Parallels Plesk Automation solution to scale and grow its global operations quickly and efficiently while removing the single point of failure that was inherent in the previous control panel configurations. This centralized management offering has led to a reduction in administration effort and improvements in service quality, resulting in faster go-to market, increased customer satisfaction and increased growth for XcellHost.
