Sundeep Misra, Co-founder and CEO, VMC Technologies considers himself as a technologist and is keen on improving the communication status in Indian market.
Early life as an Entrepreneur
Sundeep Misra has more 22 years of experience in IT trade. Prior to VMC Technologies, he was the Vice President at Goldman Sachs, Senior Consultant at Compunnel Software Group and Consultant at SIAC. Sundeep says: "I have got a quite wide technology experience and that is why I am a technologist. But even being a technologist, I have a experience in product development too. So that's what helps me think what products should be like and how can it help people who use these products."

Regarding VMC's ongoing project MCube, Sundeep says: "When I came to India, I saw this huge gap in my experience when I tried to connect to a business than it was when I was in US. We wanted to see how we can improve that experience connecting customers to business in India with a condition of cost effectiveness."

Difficulties faced in new venture
Sundeep left his job in 2011, and started developing MCube as the product. The biggest difficulty he found while developing MCube was the process of hiring. According to him, hiring in India is one of the most difficult jobs. He says, "Because it was a new cutting edge technology, we were facing problems in terms of increasing our manpower."
There is a saying that ‘nothing in life that's worth having comes easy' and this truly fits in when it comes to MCube for Sundeep Misra. He says, "When MCube as a product was developed and we started selling, it was difficult to sell it. Because MCube was developed in 2011, two years back when the whole concept of cloud telephony was new."

Sundeep further added that the first six months of MCube was frustrating. They had to educate customers on the whole concept and on the other hand, the sales were not taking place. But after sometime we were on right path. It was a hard learning experience for all of us.
Future Plans
By using MCube, companies are free from the need to maintain hardware, software and maintenance. It also provides single number integration, common system to support multiple locations resulting in improved ROI and cost effective operations. The company is looking forward to add more and more business applications that will make telephony more productive for businesses in India.
Misra says: "If you see today, telephony is a separate module that people use and applications are separate. Anything that needs to be done is manual in that process. There is no integration between business applications and the telephony. However, a lot business is conducted over telephony."
Misra believes that next generation will be taking all these technologies to the next level. According to him, with the increase in population in India, the consumer spending with also increase slowly and that will help in sustaining the economy.
