Symantec appoints Ajay Goel as MD

Corporation has announced the
appointment of Ajay Goel as MD for Symantec in India. In his new
role, Goel is responsible for driving the company's business
strategy development and sales operations in the Indian market.
“Enterprises are facing unprecedented information storage demands
against the backdrop of an increasingly sophisticated threat
landscape which makes Symantec's solutions and services extremely
relevant to customers,” said Eric Hoh, VP-Asia South Region,
Symantec.

“Security, storage and systems
management are growing sectors as customers continue to grapple with
how to secure and manage their information environments,” said Ajay
Goel. While Ajay will lead sales and business development,
engineering functions across development centres in Pune, Chennai and
Bengaluru will continue to be led by respective business leaders.
Goel brings over 25 years of engineering and sales leadership
experience with some of the world's leading multinationals,
including Cisco Systems, Sun Microsystems and Asea Brown Boveri. In
the last year, Goel successfully developed a startup venture in the
new digital media space in partnership with colleagues from Stanford
Business School. Goel holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in
Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, and is an alumnus of
Stanford Graduate School of Business.
