Symantec Corp. has been named the 2006 Enterprise Security Vendor of the Year
by global growth consulting company Frost & Sullivan. The award which was
conferred at the 2006 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific ICT Awards recognizes
Symantec's leadership in enterprise security solutions throughout the region for
base year 2005.
"This award validates our ongoing commitment to providing enterprise
customers with industry-leading protection from constantly evolving security
threats," said Bill Robbins, senior VP, Asia Pacific & Japan Geography.
"Symantec has executed a well-defined strategy across the region, realizing
our aims to develop and provide solutions that ensure the availability and
security of the applications, systems and networks upon which our customers
depend. It is a tremendous acknowledgement of the valuable efforts invested by
the Symantec team to return great results for our customers."
Frost & Sullivan presents awards to companies that demonstrate best
practices in their industry, recognizing the diligence, commitment and
innovative business strategies required to advance in the global marketplace.
Symantec was selected to receive this award based on the following criteria:
market presence; breadth of products and solutions; revenue growth; market share
and growth in market share; as well as significant customer wins during the
year.
To benchmark the nominees and determine the award recipients, Frost &
Sullivan analysts conducted detailed research and assessment on the market
performance of short-listed contenders in each category. An independent panel of
judges deliberated these findings to decide on the award recipients. This year,
27 awards within three main categories of enterprise, and telecommunications
vendor and services were presented.
