TCS rolls out 'iON' cloud for SMBs

a part of the Tata group, has recently organized a grand event
in Mumbai, to launch business solutions on cloud for the small and
medium businesses (SMBs). At the event, Ratan Tata,
Chairman, TCS, launched 'iON'-the first-of-its-kind fully
integrated information technology solution for SMBs. The new solution
uses cloud computing technology with a pay-per-use business model
providing HR, finance, inventory and domain-based ERP, as well as
e-mail, document management and website services.

is
pre-configured with hardware; network and software bundled together
and backed by business, technical and consulting services. Speaking
at the launch about this initiative, Ratan Tata explained that
through this, TCS will empower the SMEs which contribute over 45
percent to the country's GDP. He further assured the SMEs, "It
will modify the entire system and there will be powerful
technological changes.” TCS assured its SME audience that it will
provide all help to its customers starting from the level of
hardware, software and even network solutions and services for the
customers' connectivity with cloud platform.

Also,
according
to V Ramaswamy, Global SMB Head, TCS, “iON has already
managed to garner heartening responses from the end-users. We have
over 135 SMB customers from different industries including education,
retail, textiles, wellness and manufacturing, but the pricing will
vary on a case-to-case basis. These SMB customers are experiencing
the benefits of increased efficiencies as a result of iON's
end-to-end integrated suite of cloud-based business solutions.” To
provide SMB customers with seamless service, iON has created an
eco-system of 85 Cloud Service Partners across India. iON's
industry solutions are currently available for manufacturing,
textile, education, retail, quick service restaurants, and wellness
and professional services.

Also,
addressing
at the event about the significance of TCS cloud solution
for SMBs, N Chandrasekaran, CEO and MD, TCS, and Chief Architect,
iON, said,“iON will enhance India's global
competitiveness by giving 35 million Indian SMBs access to
world-class, simple-to-use and scalable technology tools. SMBs can
use the power of iON to build their business advantage and compete on
the global stage.” According to TCS, with this latest cloud-based
technology solution, the SMBs can grow smarter in their business
operations using the advantage of a pay-per-use business model of iON
that frees up capital to re-invest in their core business. “Though
premiered in India, iON's cloud-based services and pay-as-you-use
business model is also uniquely suited to SMBs in other developed and
emerging markets.”
