Arun Kumar Dey, today, is an eminent entrepreneur, who has always believed in striving for perfection and delivering quality service. Besides being the proud owner of one of the most well-known companies in the city, Computer Professional, Dey also plays the role of a responsible director in looking after the marketing and business development strategies of the company. And, for this Orissa based businessman, setting up his business never implied increasing profit figures or desires for bigger turnovers day in and day out. On the contrary, work for him was about providing the right atmosphere and conditions and providing full opportunity for development. His customers thus have always received services they had been looking for, and Dey in turn derived satisfaction from the services offered by his company.

The Initial Days

After completing his Civil Engineer (Diploma) in 1987, Arun has started his career in computer in 1996. He had taken a franchisee of Asset International (A high-end training division of Aptech Ltd. At that point time education was in booming stage. But after 2000 the education trend was gradually decreasing because of world Economic slowdown. Then he decided to go with trading of Computers as they are in computer training, he wanted to encase to it. He started with assembling the computers in 2000 and added all the brands of Desktops, laptops & printers and peripherals to their product Basket. Slowly his company started distribution of all his products in Orissa market which increase

his business volume. Because of their variety of products & faster delivery mechanism, Computer Professional became the favorite for Channel.

Achievements

During his 16 yrs journey he got lot of awards and appreciations from the OEMS as well as IT

Association.  “Because of my leadership quality, I have been elected as the President for IT Associations of Orissa for the period of 2013-2015. During my tenure our Association had been selected as Best Association in East Zone by The DQ Week in 2015”said, Arun Dey .

Arun Kumar Dey is also working as Vice- President (East) for Federation of IT Associations, Chairman for Membership Committee. As a chairman, his responsible is to organise the quarterly meeting of all state leaders. Successfully he has arranged 3 meeting within last 12 months (Bangalore, Mumbai, and Kolkata). He is also Secretary for Confederation of Indian It Associations which is Zonal Association for Eastern India.

I love to spend constructive time with my family. I am blessed with a daughter and my inspiration is my wife who is a motivational factor for me.

Advice to young entrepreneurs

Today’s youngsters are very impatient they should try to keep patience in life because you will achieve everything but after some hard work because success and money is not cake walk you have to do rigorous efforts to achieve it. Today lots of youngsters start their business without practical experience of industry and they suffer a huge loss so learn step by step and then start your business if your aim is to start the business.
