TiE launches SmashUp event for early age Startups

TiE Hyderabad launches Startup Heroes – an instant funding event as part of SmashUP. This event targets early stage Startups who can pitch for on-the-spot funding.

Scheduled for 17th January at Taj Deccan, the event will include CEO Power breakfast opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs to network with leading mentors, investors and incubators, keynote sessions from successful entrepreneurs, and multiple panel discussions. This edition also has TiE launching “Startup Heroes” – an instant funding platform, in partnership with Hyderabad Angels and TV5.

While Launching the event, Safir Adeni, president, TiE Hyderabad and managing partner, Ineda Venture Group said, “TiE’s SmashUp has been a fantastic platform for enabling the early stage Startups to get funding, scale up and grow. This TiE SmashUp event is going to be even more exciting with Live broadcast of the instant funding sessions.”

The Startups from both IT and Non technical areas can participate in this funding event. However, the Startups must have a working prototype of the business model. Around 10 selected Startups will get an opportunity to pitch to the angel investors who can invest INR 10 lacs in a Technical or upto INR 25 lacs for a manufacturing or capital intensive Startup for pre defined equity. The participating Startups will be mentored in a boot camp by successful entrepreneurs.

Commenting on the event, Pradeep Mittal, chairman, Hyderabad Angels said, “We are confident several promising startups will be unearthed from this platform providing investment opportunities for our members.”
