Wonder which is the mobile service provider that will offer fastest internet speed and lowest call drops in your home, college or office area? Which is the best recharge offer as per your smartphone usage? Is there a way to find out the best plan being offered by mobile operators? Here’s an app that claims to help you in all this.

Called tiktik, it analyses the publicly available operator information on TRAI portal to present a simple five-star rating for all networks in your locality. Says Y Ravi, co-founder of tiktik, “For a country of our size, there cannot be just one best network, there can be a best network for your mohalla and this changes by the mile.” If you find you are stuck on the wrong network, you can switch networks on a single tap. He says that you should be able to buy a new SIM card on tiktik soon.

Y Ravi is a graduate from IIT Delhi & IIM Bangalore. The other co-founder is Anil Kumar who holds an MCA degree from Andhra University.

On the recharge front, tiktik claims to source the best ‘made-for-me’ offers from operators through their proprietary technology. Unlike payment apps, the offers are given by the operator directly. This helps in ensuring that the benefits promised are correct. Users can also compare the special offers from their SIMs before they recharge on the app.

The tiktik app works natively in most Indian languages, apart from English. It is 3MB in size download on Android Play Store. Users can see custom-made offers based on their usage.
