Gemini
Communication is the only Indian company, which manufactures 4G
equipment in India. FY11 was much significant as this networking
leader successfully completed the first phase of WiMax, a dream
project of BSNL of taking technology to rural India. Apart from that,
Gemini Communication also did deployments at TATA Communications and
Department of School Education, Government of Tamil Nadu in the last
fiscal. Its acquisition of Rosy Blue Wireless, an African WiMax
company obviously helped in this endevour. Focus on government and
telecom boosted Gemini's growth as its customer base increased by
22% during the last fiscal. Gemini has also forayed into solar PV
based energy generation with the allotment of 16 MW projects in Tamil
Nadu and Gujarat. It inked a deal with a telecom service provider for
powering their towers through solar energy; it also bagged a deal
worth `11 crore from the Indian Navy for 6-8 months. The company also
successfully completed its pilot project for an intelligent water
metering system. In other areas Gemini established 3 data centers for
its banking customers as well as bagged some unified communication
projects in India.

Managed services
business remained a key focus area and helped the organization to
attract new customers in the last fiscal. As far as security business
is concerned, with rich experience in providing solutions on the
Internet Protocol (IP), enabled Gemini to win large IP surveillance
based projects for government institutions.
