Trend Micro has launched an Enterprise Protection Strategy (EPS) in India with the delivery of a range of products, services
and architectural enhancements to assist in the management of outbreaks of virus attacks
across multiple points of the corporate network. EPS is an approach to address mixed-threat attacks based on the coordination
of any Trend Micro products and services. EPS is designed to address each stage of what the company has termed the outbreak lifecycle:
outbreak prevention, virus response, and assessment and restoration. Trend Micro
Control Manager 2.5 is the core of EPS, providing centralized management and enterprise-wide coordination for Trend Micro antivirus and content security
products and services.
Trend Micro has now expanded its Outbreak Prevention Services to include its products residing at all critical points of the
network and include support for Solaris, Linux, and Windows operating environments.
This service can be enabled through new versions of OfficeScan and ServerProtect for corporate desktops and file and application servers,
ScanMail for Microsoft Exchange for Microsoft Exchange environments, ScanMail for Lotus Notes for Domino messaging environments,
InterScan Messaging Security Suite for the Internet gateway, and InterScan WebProtect
for ICAP for web caching products. It has also introduced Outbreak Prevention Services support for NetScreen-Global PRO, enabling it to deploy
outbreak prevention policies to firewall administrators.
Niraj Kaushik, Country Sales Manager, Trend Micro said that with the launch of EPS, the company is targeting the banking,
telecommunication, oil and gas and the manufacturing segments in India. It is also looking at achieving a
three digit growth for India in 2003 based on the supposed revenue increase with the launch of EPS.
