Trio Digital is making forays in the mobile phones market to introduce Make In India phones. This is a stiff competition, as the phone market is very competitive, with many MNC products already monopolising the market. However Trio Digital is attempting to meet the challenge. Manish Pengoriya , Director, Trio Digital spoke to the DQ Channels about it.

About these Make in India Mobile Phones
Manish Pengoriya said that currently they are doing local manufacturing of mobile phone after importing in spare parts in complete knockdown and do manufacturing in their Noida plant. All accessories like battery and charges are being manufactured locally in the Indian factory. Currently, they are manufacturing approx 40% parts locally and plan to increase up to 60-65% in future.
Competition with Well-Known MNC Brands
Manish said that they are providing quality product with price effectiveness and good after-sale support to compete with MNC brands. They are also working with local service providers to give value added service to the customers.

Make in India Policies that Should be Changed
Manish feels that there should be separate policies for MSME companies to get PLI benefits. Only then will the more MSMEs be able to establish themselves in India. He feels it is important because MSMEs form the backbone of India.

Homegrown firm TrioSmart Digital on Thursday launched its ‘Trio’ series of feature phones in India, comprising of T8 Boss, T4 Power, T4 Jazz and T3 Magic. These feature phones come with features such as dual sim support, large display, big battery, video/Audio player, wireless FM, bluetooth, big torch,auto-call recording and multi language among others. The company also has plans to launch smart phones & accessories, which could be positioned across price ranges in the coming months.
Nikhil Chopra, Business Head, Trio Digital and also an Industry veteran said about this venture, “This brand will offer the range of new feature phones through E-commerce platforms like Amazon , Flipkart and offline distributors across India. All states will be serviced by an after-sales network of more than 500 service centers. All the phones are made in India and are targeted at tier-2, 3, and rural areas where there is significant demand for feature phones.”
