Twitter has announced that it has added four more Indian languages in which the popular micro-blogging website can be used. "Today we've made Twitter available in Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi and Tamil, and we've updated Twitter.com and the Android app to support these additional Indian languages," it said in a statement.

Though users can tweet in any script, the user interface (UI) until now was available only in Hindi and Bengali (among the Indian languages). Now the website has created interfaces in four additional languages and all the unique features of the website including looking up trending topics, searching for handles, etc, can be done in these regional languages.

Users will have to select the language from the settings menu in the profile. A community of Twitter users partially translated the interface into these new four languages via a 'Translation Centre', it said.
