Tyco Electronics, a structured cabling solutions providing company, has announced its
plans to launch AMPtrac solutions. According to the company, this solution will turn any
cabling system and its connected devices into an intelligent network, eliminating costly
and time-consuming manual cable management.
"With this complete set of tools, users can track and document all moves, adds and
changes to the network from a centralized location as they occur," says KK Shetty,
Country Manager, Tyco Electronics. According to him, the fully automated system will
optimize NIs to assess utilization, maintain accurate documentation and prevent costly
errors.
Although the implementation cost of AMPtrac-based structured cabling system is pegged
to be 50% higher than the conventional structured cabling solution, the company claims
this new technology will reduce 20% of the total network maintenance and upgradation cost.
The first company to have implemented the AMPtrac solution is Mumbai-based Orange WNS.
With this latest offering in the company, Tyco plans to achieve a turnover of Rs 80
crore from its structured cabling business this year. The company plans to target call
centers, service provider, educational institutes and other niche verticals to be early
adopters of AMPtrac. Tyco is also aiming to convert its existing customers to use APMtrac
solutions. The company claims to have certified 700 integrators across the country to
implement this new structured cabling solution.
According to the company, AMP Netconnect AMPtrac System's hardware and iTRACS software
combination can be integrated into any new or existing network. By allowing NIs to respond
to any changes in connectivity through customizable alerts or alarms, this solution also
optimizes the network security and monitoring.
Tyco also plans to recognize 40 top performing resellers across the country and provide
them the opportunity to be a part of the sales meet, which will be held in Colombo, Sri
Lanka shortly.
