MN Vidyashankar, who is currently serving as Secretary to the Government of
Department of Medical Education, will take over as IT secretary in Karnataka,
“with immediate effect.”
According to government sources, the government order on his appointment was
issued late last night. Vidyashankar would take over from incumbent Dr Anup K
Pujari, who had a short stint as IT secretary-from May 2006.
Pujari will now be moving to Delhi take up the role of joint secretary,
department of economic affairs.
Vidyashankar has served as the commissioner of the Bangalore Development
Authority (BDA) for around two years. His appointment as IT secretary comes less
than a month before the start of the State's showcase IT event, BangaloreIT.in.
