Western Digital introduced 10 fresh new colors for its My Passport Essential
Portable USB Drives. Weighing less than five ounces, My Passport Essential USB
Drives offer almost a third of a terabyte of digital storage in the palm of the
users and are available now at select retailers.
The drives are simple to use, light and easy to carry, and require no power
adapter-they are powered directly through the USB cable. Equipped with sync
and encryption software for easy file transfer, the mega-capacity of the My
Passport Essential Portable USB Drive makes it simple to securely carry
thousands of songs, videos or photos.
“Our striking new color selection gives our customers an opportunity to
express their unique style, while securely storing and carrying the massive
amounts of rich content generated by higher resolution cameras, HD videos and
music,” said Sharad Srivastava, Director Sales (India & South Asia),
Western Digital.
WD SyncÔ software allows consumers to synchronize personal files from their
desktop PC to their My Passport drive. My Passport Portable USB Drives can be
used for file portability as well as keeping a backup copy of valuable content.
The data is protected with 128bit encryption. Google software on the drive
allows users to locate files with the Google Desktop Search tool, manage photos
with Picasa photo organizer software and simplify web searches with the Google
Toolbar search bar.
The new colors include: brilliant orange, super sunny yellow, raindrop blue,
arctic white, deep viola, cherry red, ultra mint, real red, intense blue, and
vibrant pink.
My Passport Essential USB Drives are available through select WD distributors
in India. The drives are also available at select retail stores and online
retailers.
Suggested retail price is Rs 9,500 for WD Passport Essential USB Drive 320GB,
Rs 6,800 WD Passport Essential USB Drive 250GB, Rs 4,700 WD Passport Essential
USB Drive 160GB and Rs 4,200 for WD Passport Essential USB Drive 120GB.
