Gaurav Mathur, country business head, Genius India, has spent over 13 years in managerial roles across diverse sectors comprising consumer, retail and technology sectors at some of the world's leading companies. At Genius India, Mathur is responsible for charting and driving the company's growth blueprint, through greater market penetration and strengthening the brand equity. His key job responsibilities include overseeing the management, planning and implementing business plan and operations in India, leading, restructuring and redesigning the business model in order to align it with the company's overall goals and objectives. Gaurav Mathur brings with him deep market insights and strong understanding of all facets of the IT products industry, both local and international. His pro-active measures in product line rationalization/restructuring, channel strategy, dealer engagement programs and customer loyalty initiatives, resulted in substantial business expansion and channel penetration in corporate/government and online platforms for Transcend Information, in the South Asian. Mathur hopes to leverage his experience, knowledge and acumen in establishing Genius as the preferred brand for channel partners and consumers in India. Prior to joining Genius, Mathur has held various managerial positions at Transcend Information, Wipro Technology, Interglobe Technology and Tata AIG.

What will be your channel strategy?
My association with Genius could not have commenced at a better time when the company is celebrating its 30th anniversary. We will be focusing on the support developed with its 4 regional distributors - Abacus in West, Pioneer Digital in North, Inspan in South and Technocrat in East. The aim is to up volume partners in tier-2 cities and launch a ‘Genius Premium Partner Club' in this quarter. In this new initiative, enrollment will happen and state-wise targets will be assigned.
What programs are launched to boost the channel strategy?
To strengthen its channel partner program, Genius India recently conducted dealer meets in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai and Delhi. Alongside, keeping in mind the festive season, Genius India has worked out interesting schemes with lucrative margins for its channel partners.
What is your Go-to Market strategy?
As a part of GTM strategy, Genius is hiring sales and marketing team in India and working on various pull activities. To create pull for the brand in the market, Genius has engaged in a 360 degree visibility campaign in various media including print, online, retail events, in store branding, social media and blogs.

Genius is looking at 20% q-o-q growth and 10% market share. In India, our vision is to emerge among the top 3 computers and smart phone peripheral and accessories brand in the next 1 year.
