WeP to add new range of DMP printers

Wipro ePeripherals Ltd has announced its plans to introduce DMP mini printing

solutions, the latest addition to its dot matrix printer range. Positioned as

the ‘space saver’ model, Wipro ePeripherals claims that the new mini printer

is an ideal solution to fulfill needs of several business segments where space

comes at a premium. The company has identified restaurants, shopping malls and

fast food joints as some of the target verticals for the mini printer range.

"Currently, the new mini printer range is under trial and it will be

launched in phases by August this year," says Dependra Mathur, GM,

International Operations, Wipro ePeripherals. The printers are designed and

manufactured by Wipro ePeripherals’ Electronic Design and Manufacturing unit (EDM)

in Hyderabad.

Priced at Rs 10,000, these printers come at speeds of two lines per second,

can print on paper width of 76 mm (3 inches) and have a printing width of 50.8

mm. It has a maximum roll capacity of 80 mm diameter. The product comes with a

choice of either parallel or serial port and has a print head life of 100

million characters. The company also plans to launch a 9-pin DMP model shortly.
