WeP Peripherals Limited, (erstwhile Wipro ePeripherals) has announced its plans to launch printing centers nationally, targeting customers with volume printing needs. It will launch its first printing center in Bangalore by mid-April this year, for which the company has invested Rs 20 lakh. Similar set-ups will be launched in metros and second-level cities during AMJ and JAS quarters of 2003.
"This is the first time in the country a peripheral manufacturing company is offering such a facility to users. People who are really enthused are the finance managers of various institutions," says Dependra Mathur, Chief Marketing Officer, WeP Products and Solutions, WeP Peripherals.Â
To compliment this initiative, WeP is planning to sell pre-paid printing cards through its 10,000 authorized channel partners spread across India. According to Dependra, these cards will help users to exchange it for printing services in centers closest to their location. The company is targeting to push these paid printing cards to SOHO and SME users. Further details regarding the estimated price of the pre-paid printing cards will be announced shortly.
WeP has plans to enter the LCD monitor, scanner and digicam market, informs Dependra. "We are planning an IPO by fourth quarter of 2003 and are working towards it. However this initiative is subject to the market being supportive and conducive to a public offering," adds
Dependra.
