Wipro appoints Jeff Heenan-Jalil on board of Opera solutions

Bengaluru based software company Wipro has appointed Jeff Heenan-Jalil, Global Head of Wipro's Advanced Technologies & Solutions on the board of Opera Solutions. Wipro owns around 14% stake in this data analytic firm. Jeff will replace KR Sanjiv, who was earlier Wipro's representative at Opera and is now the chief technology officer at Wipro.

He will be responsible to run the combined business with the Analytics and Information Management unit. Executives at both Opera and Wipro deny any possibility of Wipro increasing its stake in the data analytics company as of now, which is believed to have revenues of $100 million.

This appointment will help Wipro to ‘foster and accelerate' its partnership and also aid Wipro for winning more clients and improve margins.

Arnab Gupta, Founder and Executive Chairman of Opera Solutions said that the appointment is a part of overarching strategy being implemented by TK (TK Kurien, CEO Wipro) as the company is trying to balance its services-led model with hyper-automation model.

Wipro claims that its partnership with data analytics firm Opera Solutions has helped it open "new engagements", especially in the banking and financial services space.
