Bangalore-based Wipro ePeripherals has enteredinto the networking products
space with the introduction of products like NICs, switches, print servers and
routers.
WeP has tied up with Huawei Technologies of China for sourcing the high-end
products like switches and routers. These will be sold under the joint name of
WeP-Huawei brand. However, low-end products like NICs and print servers are
being sourced from Taiwan and will be sold under the WeP brand. In about six
months, the company will roll out modems too.
According to company sources, the products are competitively priced and high
on quality and features. WeP will be using its existing channel and is looking
for systems integrators to address the SME segment. The company already has a
network of 170 SIs throughout the country. WeP will be providing complete
support to its partners in terms of training and offering certification to
engineers.
WeP expects networking products to contribute about 15 percent to its total
revenue in three years’ time.
