Kolkata-based Wizertech Informatics is all set to expand its operations,
geographically as well as by adding new verticals and solutions. Wizertech has
gone through a wholesome transformation in the last couple of years. From being
a mere box pusher, it is now into full-time solution providing and system
integration. Over time, the company has developed essential technical know-how
and expertise in the fields such as server and storage vertical, IP convergence
(voice, data and video) and power management. "Responding to the need of
the hour, we changed our position. Customers now want to have a single point of
contact for all their IT needs. To attain this expertise, we hired professional
manpower and have also restructured our entire business operation, making it
more systematic and process driven," informed Shankar G Choudhury,
Head-Business Development, Wizertech Informatics.

Wizer had initially started its business at a sub-disti level for IBM servers
and later on included its storage, desktop and laptops range as well. Now, as a
solution provider (SP), the company has partnered with OEMs like IBM, HP, Cisco,
APC, Polycom, etc. Last FY, Wizertech had clocked revenue of Rs 80 crore and
this year, it is targeting a growth of 130 percent.

Meanwhile, the company has successfully reinforced its position as an SP by
developing domain expertise in server and storage. As part of its lateral
expansion plans, last year Wizertech has added two more verticals, IP networking
and power management to its fold. "We have been very focused in
strengthening our backend infrastructure in order to support the required
changes and also leveraging on the changes for the high growth that we have
witnessed in the last fiscal," said Choudhury. The company has developed
customized solutions for its customers from various industries including,
manufacturing, steel, railways, education, healthcare, government, etc. "We
have also been a part of installing APAC's first IBM eServer p5 590 server in
the Indian Association of Cultivation of Science at Jadavpur University,"
informed Choudhury. The company has also developed a strong service support
infrastructure and is one of the leading support partners for IBM. "Our
Bhubaneswar office is the largest ThinkPad repairing center," he added.
