The R2844-Z includes 13.56 MHz frequency encoding and supports a wide range
of RFID transponders, including Philips I-CODE, Texas Instruments Tag-it, Inside
Technologies PicoTag, EPC and ISO 15693. It has a programmable position for
transponder encoding, with write and verify functions.

The printer has advanced connectivity with serial, USB and parallel ports,
plus option internal Ethernet. It comes with Zebra programming language (ZPL and
ZPLII, software selectable). The 32-bit reduced instruction set computer (RISC)
micro-processor gives the machine a rugged construction with ease of use.

As Zebra's second generation RFID printer/encoder, the R2844-Z will replace
the R402 printer/encoder introduced in August 2002.
