Started in 1991, Micromax deals in both non-impact and dot matrix printers from HP and TVSE. It is also into hard disk drives, CD-ROM drives, monitors, ISP services and storage devices from companies like LG, Iomega, Bharti BT, Yamaha and Qmax. The Company posted a growth of 47 percent, closing the 2000-01fiscal with revenue of Rs 53 crore. It reported a revenue of Rs 36 in the previous year.
Micromax has been the distributor of HP peripherals for the past two years and it is the first time that it has added PCs to its product list. The company would be the first tier distributor of HP Brio.
With the 600 to 700 strong channel partner chain, Micromax hopes to expand the reach of HP Brio. "Our appointment as the distributor of HP Brio, outlines HP's strategy of reaching out to the smaller segments of systems integrators, which the bigger players such as Redington and Tech Pacific will not be able to do," says Rajesh
