The number of partners for RR Systems has grown manifold in the last year to nearly 250 now. The growth has come from the company's aggressive focus on Samsung products. The company today enjoys the status of being a Samsung Star Partner. This has been a result of the company's undivided attention on the product line last year.
The company has a developed a wide portfolio of products that number as much as 125 now. In the recent past it has added Epson and Cyrix to the list. But growth and volumes came from a select group of products. "Intel, Seagate, Samsung and LG were the main drivers of growth," says Bharat
Bhushan, Director.
With such a wide product basket available first hand, the company, as a logical extension, is venturing into retail. "Retail is always better as it offers a greater liquidity," explains Bhushan. Retailing is also being seen as a step to provide a cushion from the tough times that the industry as a whole seems to be reeling under. "Cost cutting is not a viable option as overheads cannot be cut for a quarterly period," says
Bhushan.
Although the company has no immediate plans to get in to services, but with retailing as a prime focus this year, it is working towards serving the customer better. "Customer orientation will definitely be enhanced from top to bottom," says Bhushan. The other avenue that the company is looking at aggressively is distribution. The company has already ventured into the same through a sister concern, Aryan Technologies, which distributes HP systems for the Northern
region.
The slower times have seen the company take more measures than one. It is rationalizing its inventory and working towards better credit management. It is not adding new customers whose credit worthiness is not known to it. "We are simply working towards saving our own skin," says Bhushan.
