Browsing content on Pornhub has now become 'safer' than before. The website has now turned on its encryption by default according to a report in Venturebeat. The website has switched to Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure or HTTPS, which is a more secure version of HTTP. The HTTPS encryption aims to prevent man-in-the-middle attacks, eavesdropping and other such intrusions.

Using HTTPS, the content browsed by the user will be secure from third-party tracking, keeping data browsing safe and private. While announcing the move, MindGeek the company that own Pornhub, said that so far only three other porn websites use HTTPS encryption. From April 4 onwards, Pornhub's sister website YouPorn too is getting the HTTPS URL.

"Here at Pornhub, with more than 70 million daily visitors, we wanted to continue our concerted effort to maximize the privacy of our users, ensuring that what they do on our platform remains strictly confidential," said Corey Price Pornhub vice president in a statement. "With the switch to HTTPS we are able to protect their identity as well as safeguard them against exposure to malware by third parties."

It is worth adding that while HTTPS won't stop hackers from tracking your IP address, but it may surely help prevent them from watching the pages that you view.

"As one of the most viewed websites in the world, it is our duty to ensure the confidentially and safety of our users," said Brad Burns, vice president of YouPorn, in a press statement. "The transition to HTTPS will go a long way in solidifying our users' privacy and protecting them against various types of malware. The data on our webpages will now be encrypted, making it significantly harder for third parties to penetrate."

It is worth adding that in recent Google Transparency report ending 2016, Pornhub and YouPorn were among the 11 adult websites to figure I. the list of 100 most-visited websites.
