CMDA-Pune moots "Be sure - Buy from CMDA member" campaign

John Thomas, the new president of Computer and Media Dealers Association (CMDA), Pune has his hands full this year.

Some of the ambitious plans include doubling the existing membership of CMDA and working towards

creating an umbrella association of dealers in Maharashtra.

"We have designed a campaign to enhance CMDA's image in the public eye. We have proposed to start a "Be sure - Buy

from a CMDA member" campaign. This, we hope will go a long way in enhancing the image of the association as well

as its members among the masses," says John.

CMDA plans to train its eyes on the ever-important warranty replacement, service backup and octroi. "We would do

everything that is needed to rationalize the percentage of octroi. Already the industry is reeling under

low margins and excessive competition," adds John.

John was recently elected president of CMDA at the annual general meeting (AGM) of the association held in

Mahabaleshwar on December 8. Suresh Joshi is the new VP and Anil Pherwani the new secretary of the association. Shyam

Bhandari, Thomas and Suresh Joshi held these posts previously.
