Fujifilm India has announced the launch of its mirrorless digital camera Fujifilm X-S20, in India. It is a new addition to the X Series of mirrorless digital cameras which have compact and lightweight body and superior image quality based on the company’s proprietary colour reproduction technology. In its compact and lightweight body, which is the popular property of the previous model, the X-S20 features AI-based subject-detection AF and capability to record 6.2K/30P video. The use of the newly adopted high-capacity battery means the camera can take approx. 800 frames and keeps operating for an extended duration of time, making it an ideal travel camera.

The X-S20 offers premium image quality and advanced portability, catering to a variety of shooting styles ranging from casual self-portraits to fully-fledged photography and videography.

“We are back with yet another powerful camera that will be fun to use for the photography and film making enthusiast. The X-S20 is suitable for those who want a portable, lightweight camera for movies and photography. It is great for content creators who live stream, but also need high quality stills. We recommend it highly for live streaming, vlogging, travel, and family photography. X-S20 enables creators to tell their stories. It puts a powerful story-creation tool in their hands while emphasizing their experiences. X-S20 isn’t about the hardware; it’s about the content creators and the art they are making,” says Koji Wada, MD, Fujifilm India.

The X-S20 is a mirrorless digital camera that is equipped with the back-illuminated 26.1MP sensor X-Trans CMOS 4  and the high-speed image processing engine X-Processor 5 to produce high-quality images. It features X-S Series’ signature large grip for hand-holding stability. The use of the new high-capacity battery has more than doubled the number of frames by approx. 800 compared to that of the previous model. The compact and lightweight body, weighing just 491g makes it comfortable to use even in long-hour shootings. The camera also features the five-axis in-body image stabilization (IBIS) mechanism that offers up to a 7.0-stop advantage. The AI-based subject-detection AF, capable of detecting animals and cars, adds to its AF performance, equivalent to the fifth-generation X Series camera, Fujifilm X-T5, for added mobility.

“X-S20 is designed for Fujifilm creators and those new to telling their stories. The PASM Mode dial offers a familiar button layout to experienced users while providing fledgling users with an intuitive way to begin capturing their experiences. X-S20 brings Fujifilm’s design, engineering, and color science expertise to the table for both user groups,” says Arun Babu, Head of Digital Camera, Instax and Optical Devices Business, FUJIFILM India.

The X-S20 supports recording 6.2K/30P 4:2:2 10-bit video internally and features a 3.5mm microphone/earphone jack for connecting external accessories to conduct fully-fledged video recording. Furthermore, the new Vlog Mode makes it easy to produce a Vlog when the camera is combined with the tripod grip, TG-BT1.
