This gesture has been made in the aftermath of the second wave of Corona, when many patients died because of lack of oxygen and the Central Government allowed the States to procure their own oxygen. It can be provided in the form of cylinders, concentrators and plants can be installed in the hospitals so that oxygen supply can be read when needed. While many large hospitals in South India have their own oxygen plants, no hospital in Delhi had an oxygen plant which complicated the situation. Hence there is a need to install oxygen plants in the hospitals of Delhi.
