IBM #1 storage vendor: IDC Quarterly Tracker Report

IBM India has retained its leadership position in the domestic external storage market, according to IDC’s Quarterly Tracker Report that was released in September 2002. The report states that IBM clearly achieved the highest growth with a market share increase of 11.4 percent in the first half of 2002 (H1 2002) over the corresponding period in 2001.

According to the Tracker Report, IBM becomes the preferred external storage vendor in India with 23.6 percent market share for Q2 2002. IBM has registered a market share growth of 10.4 percent in 2Q 2002 over 2Q 2001, the highest growth recorded by any vendor in India.
