The states of Kerala and Karnataka will work jointly for promotion of the IT
industry. The announcement was made at the inaugural meet of IT Kerala 2002, a
four-day event attended by over 150 companies including multinationals.
PK Kunhalikutty, Kerala IT Minister informed that the first round of
discussions between A K Antony, Kerala’s Chief Minister and his Karnataka
counterpart SM Krishna, had already taken place in Bangalore.

Kunhalikutty said that Kerala had much to learn from the experience of
Karnataka in development of IT industry. Therefore, the state has sought
Karnataka’s assistance.
The IT Kerala 2002 was organized by the Government of Kerala in association
with MAIT, STPI, Microsoft, BSNL, Airtel and Cyber Expo.
