Lenovo appoints Sudhin Mathur as director, smartphones

Lenovo India has appointed Sudhin Mathur as director, smartphones for India.

Mathur, who holds twenty years of experience in business management and consumer marketing, will be responsible for steering the company's aggressive growth strategies for Smartphones in India.

"I am delighted to have Sudhin on board as Lenovo's Mobile Internet Devices Home (MIDH) business continues to deliver strong growth. Lenovo is among the top PC players in India today and this is indeed an opportune time, when we are aggressive on building mindshare in the PC+ space. We believe Sudhin will add a lot of value to our long term vision and strategy to achieve leadership in the PC+ era," said J D Howard, VP, MIDH- Worldwide, Lenovo.

Announcing the appointment, Amar Babu, MD, Lenovo India said, "We welcome Sudhin into Lenovo's senior management team. While building on our existing competitive strengths in PCs, we are rapidly and aggressively becoming a PC+ company beyond simply driving market share, to fostering greater innovation that sets us apart as a PC+ leader. Sudhin's track record for growing mobile phone brands and establishing them as leading players will aid our growth in India."

A mechanical engineer from Delhi College of Engineering, Sudhin has a Post Graduate degree in Business Management from India's premier B School, IMT Ghaziabad.
