MediaTek has introduced the Dimensity 9300, their latest flagship mobile chip featuring an innovative All Big Core design. This distinctive setup merges exceptional performance with MediaTek's top-notch power efficiency, offering unparalleled user experiences in gaming, video capture, and on-device generative AI processing.

“The Dimensity 9300 is MediaTek’s most powerful flagship chip yet, bringing a huge boost in raw computing power to flagship smartphones with our groundbreaking All Big Core design,” said Joe Chen, President at MediaTek. “This unique architecture, combined with our upgraded on-chip AI Processing Unit, will usher in a new era of generative AI applications as developers push the limits with edge AI and hybrid AI computing capabilities.” 

MediaTek's cutting-edge APU 790 AI processor, integrated into the Dimensity 9300, is engineered to enhance generative AI performance and energy efficiency, enabling faster and more secure edge computing. The APU 790 doubles both integer and floating-point operations performance while decreasing power consumption by 45%. Utilizing the Transformer model for operator acceleration, the APU 790 achieves processing speeds 8 times faster than the previous generation, enabling image generation within one second using Stable Diffusion.

MediaTek has introduced mixed-precision INT4 quantization technology, which, when paired with the company's NeuroPilot memory hardware compression, optimizes memory bandwidth utilization and significantly reduces memory requirements for extensive AI models. The APU 790 includes support for NeuroPilot Fusion, enabling continuous LoRA low-rank adaptation. It can handle large language models with 1B, 7B, and 13B parameters, scalable up to 33B. As part of MediaTek's diverse AI ecosystem, the Dimensity 9300 will back cutting-edge mainstream large language models like Meta Llama 2, Baichuan 2, Baidu AI LLM, and more. This empowers developers to efficiently deploy multi-modal generative AI applications, offering users generative AI experiences in text, images, and music.

Equipped with Arm's latest flagship GPU, the Immortalis-G720, the Dimensity 9300 enhances mobile gaming experiences significantly. This chipset delivers an impressive 46% increase in GPU performance while maintaining the same power consumption as the Dimensity 9200. Additionally, it achieves a remarkable 40% reduction in GPU power consumption while delivering equivalent performance to the previous generation chipset. This means users can enjoy a substantial performance boost without compromising battery life. The Dimensity 9300 combines its powerful octa-core CPU design with MediaTek's second-generation hardware raytracing engine, enabling smartphones powered by this chipset to render console-level global illumination effects at a seamless 60 FPS. Moreover, this high-performance chipset enables seamless multitasking, allowing users to game and stream videos simultaneously or watch another video while gaming.

The Dimensity 9300 revolutionizes mobile photography and video capture through the integration of a low-power AI-ISP and always-on HDR up to 4K resolution at 60 frames per second (fps). This chipset enables support for cinematic 4K at 30 fps with real-time bokeh tracking, enhancing bokeh effects professionally. It also features 4K AI Noise Reduction (AI-NR) and AI processing capabilities for RAW photos and videos. Furthermore, the Dimensity 9300 is set to embrace the new Ultra HDR format in Android 14, representing a significant advancement in mobile photography by enhancing vibrancy while ensuring compatibility with the widely used JPEG format. To elevate users' photography experiences, the Dimensity 9300 incorporates innovative ambient light adaptive HDR recovery technology.

The Dimensity 9300 display system utilizes the chipset's robust on-device AI capability to instantly recognize primary objects and background images. Teamed with the MiraVision Picture Quality (PQ) engine, it dynamically fine-tunes the ideal contrast, sharpness, and color of primary objects, enriching the overall image with depth and creating lifelike video experiences akin to those offered by current flagship DTVs.

Recognizing the pivotal role of connectivity in user experience, the Dimensity 9300 backs Wi-Fi 7 speeds of up to 6.5 Gbps and incorporates MediaTek Xtra Range Technology for enhanced long-range connectivity. Additionally, MediaTek's Multi-Link Hotspot technology boosts smartphone tethering speeds by up to 3X when compared to rival solutions.

Featuring the Cortex-X4 and Cortex-A720 processors based on Arm's latest v9 architecture, the chipset incorporates Arm's advanced Memory Tagging Extension (MTE) technology. This technology simplifies the process for developers to identify memory-related bugs both before and after deployment. Google's commitment to supporting MTE throughout its Android stack ensures enhanced user safety and accelerates the development process, enabling OEMs to expedite their time to market.
